The Karallief® Easy Climb® Clinical Study[1]

Many supplement manufacturers, distributors and consumers are often skeptical about the effectiveness of herbal ingredients for joint support, which is understandable. Very few, if any, herbal extract formulators on the market can validate their joint health claims or the purity of their ingredients, but Karallief® IS NOT one of those companies.

Karallief® believes science should drive strategy and the purity of our raw ingredients is vital.

We tested the safety and efficacy of our Karallief® Easy Climb® formula over the course of 120 days with a randomized, double-blind, parallel, placebo-controlled study on subjects with age-related knee concerns. One group of 40 participants received 1,000 mg of the Easy Climb® formula each day, and a second group of 40 subjects served as the control and received a placebo.

The trial lasted 4 months and each subject was evaluated for improvement using the following:

  • The 30 Second Chair Stand Test to assess strength and endurance

  • WOMAC index for discomfort, stiffness and function

  • Knee Flexion Test for range of motion

  • X-ray measurement of joint space width*

The results from the clinical study were very impressive, showing just how powerful our joint support formula is.* The Karallief® Easy Climb® study participants experienced…

  • 71% decrease in discomfort scores compared to the placebo at 49%*[1]

  • 25% increase in joint space width, double that of 11% for the placebo*[1]

  • 8% improvement in the range of knee flexion, double that of the placebo at 4%*[1]

  • 16% increase in the number of times they could stand from being seated versus the placebo at 8%*[1]

The details from the clinical study are as follows:

30 SECOND CHAIR TEST

This tested the number of times the subjects could stand from a seated position within 30 seconds. For a patient to feel a significant change, the improvement should be at least as much as the minimal clinically important difference (MCID), which is a value of 2 repetitions for this test.[19] The Easy Climb® formula brought an improvement of around 2 repetitions, suggesting that it helps improve endurance and joint strength.*

  • The Easy Climb® group showed a statistically significant improvement from 11.06 to 11.94 (8% increase in 60 days) and 11.06 to 12.86 (16% increase in 120 days)

  • The placebo group showed a 3% increase in 60 days and an 8% increase in 120 days

At the end of the trial, Easy Climb™ contributed to a statistically significant improvement of 16%, more than twice as effective as the placebo value of 8%.[1]

At the end of the trial, Easy Climb® contributed to a statistically significant improvement of 16%, more than twice as effective as the placebo value of 8%.[1]

Easy Climb™ met the MCID level by bringing an improvement of about 2 repetitions, leading to a 30SCST value of 13. The placebo did not meet the same threshold.[1]

Easy Climb® met the MCID level by bringing an improvement of about 2 repetitions, leading to a 30SCST value of 13. The placebo did not meet the same threshold.[1]

WOMAC

Participants answered a questionnaire to evaluate their change in discomfort, stiffness and physical function. The overall results of this test suggest that Easy Climb® improves joint comfort and function.*

  • Discomfort: After 30 days, the Easy Climb® group saw statistically significant reduction in scores of 15% compared to only a 3% decrease for the placebo group. After 4 months, there was a statistically significant decrease in both groups, however results for the Easy Climb® group was better and statistically significant over placebo.

    • The Easy Climb® group scores decreased from 5.94 to 1.74, a 71% decrease

    • The placebo group decreased from 4.41 to 2.24, a 49% decrease

Discomfort scores began decreasing for the Easy Climb™ group within the first 30 days by 15%, while placebo was 3%. By Day 120 Easy Climb™ was at 71%.[1]

Discomfort scores began decreasing for the Easy Climb® group within the first 30 days by 15%, while placebo was 3%. By Day 120 Easy Climb® was at 71%.[1]

KNEE FLEXION

This test measured how much the knee could flex while the subject was lying down. All groups showed a statistically significant increase in knee flexion compared to baseline, however the Easy Climb® group’s range of motion improved better and was statistically significant compared to the placebo. A normal healthy knee can flex up to 130 degrees.[20]

  • The range of knee flexion for the Easy Climb® group improved from 113.68° to 122.50°, an 8% increase

  • The range of knee flexion for the placebo group improved from 115.00° to 119.12°, a 4% increase

This test measures the extent to which the patient can flex his/her knees lying down. A healthy knee can flex to 130 degrees.[20]

Easy Climb™ brought a statistically significant increase of 8.82 degrees versus the placebo at 4.12 degrees. By Day 120, Easy Climb™ results were twice as good as the placebo.[1]

Easy Climb® brought a statistically significant increase of 8.82 degrees versus the placebo at 4.12 degrees. By Day 120, Easy Climb® results were twice as good as the placebo.[1]

JOINT SPACE WIDTH

This tested the minimum joint space width as measured by X-rays. In a healthy knee joint, the average joint width space is 4.8mm-5.7mm.* Older subjects and/or those with knee discomfort often have less joint cartilage, thus narrowing the joint space. The Easy Climb® group results were better and statistically significant compared to placebo, demonstrating an improvement in joint space which suggests that the Easy Climb® formula contributes to overall joint health.*

  • The Easy Climb® group joint space increased from 1.54 mm to 1.92 mm, a 25% improvement*

  • The placebo group joint space increased from 1.52 mm to 1.69 mm, an 11% improvement*

Easy Climb™ contributed to a 25% increase in joint space width in the Tibio-femoral joint as seen in X-rays versus the placebo at 11%.*[1]

The Karallief® Easy Climb® Clinical Study Showed
Our Unique Herbal Formula Can…

  • Significantly improve joint  health in as little as 30 days*[1]
